Williams F1 & HP

With less than 3 weeks to go D&S Events was asked to provide a team build half day for a group of 150 multi-national delegates from HP who were attending a conference at the RBS conference centre at the Williams F1 factory. All of the events were to be themed along the lines of F1 and should be able to be completed by teams of people who did not speak the same language.

Some would think this impossible but our creative team love a challenge and so off they went designing a whole host of new team build activities. The workshop team then spent two weeks building props to enable the event to go off smoothly.

The day saw the group split into 8 teams, don coloured caps and then rotate through 8 activities in and around the conference centre. Two F1 cars were supplied for the teams to compete in an F1 pit stop challenge and a giant Scalectrix saw the teams compete in wheel to wheel racing. Other activities saw the teams ‘spotting’ hidden F1 items, capping waste oil drums, building model cars and even rebuilding an exhaust system having crossed a contaminated area.

The client was very happy with the event as were the delegates as the common language of the day was most certainly laughter and team spirit.

The prizes were awarded at the end of the day by Sir Frank Williams himself.
