THE IDEA
Years of experience as a serious training company
as well as an events business have taught us that delegates learn
when having fun and also when they learn in situ. We therefore presented
an event that put the delegates in car in groups of 4 all day except
for a brief introductory presentation, lunch and a very short debrief/prize
giving. Firstly D&S Events sourced a series of venues that fit
with the Kia Sportage brand, Leeds Headingly, Edinburgh Murrayfield
and Oxford Stadium. All venues were to be delivered in just 1 week
with the Company providing a full service that included presentation
design and content, venue finding and hiring, all event logistics
including vehicle transportation, all set up and breakdown, full event
management and all event staff.
Two road routes were set at each venue to suit
the 2 engine variants and the routes were then GPS plotted. A series
of fun Treasure Hunt clues were set around the routes that required
to the delegates to answer questions and take photos with the provided
Polaroid cameras.
D&S Events worked closely with the Autotguide team to script and
deliver all of the route directions and Treasure Hunt questions via
the GPS system that we fitted to each vehicle.
As well as being fun it was important to deliver
product information about the new vehicles and to allow the delegates
to explore the vehicle in safety. All of the product information was
delivered in car via Autoguide by Tiff Needell and delivered at precisely
the right moment via GPS.
Remote activity sites were also set up en route
where delegates were required to complete various other product related
tasks like seat folding, product placement and 4x4 off road driving.
Each of these activities was marked along with the treasure hunt clues
and photos to go towards the ultimate team score. To test the delegates
newly gained product knowledge a hand held PDA quiz was completed at
the end of each route to complete the competitive element. Once all
aspects of the competition had been added up each member of the winning
teams received a voucher from one of D&S Events partner agencies
