Barcelona – Philips Electronics

D&S Events was tasked with organising a conference / sales incentive event for one of our regular clients, Philips Electronics.

The brief was for a group of 70 to have a  3 day event in a European city and subsequently Barcelona was selected, where previous events had been conducted and excellent relationships with ground agents already existed.

Other than the flights, D&S Events took care of all other elements including having our team at all the UK departure airports to assist with boarding and a full team in Barcelona to greet the guests on arrival.

On arrival guests were transferred to the luxury 5* Eurostar Gran Marina in the Port of Barcelona, where excellent rates had been negotiated on behalf of our client.

On arrival late Friday afternoon, free time was available for the D&S Events team to conduct guided tours of this fabulous city.

Dinner was served in the hotel for all guests with traditional Catalonia fayre being served.

The next morning we transferred all the guests to Barcelona FC’s, Camp Nou for a full day conference fully serviced by D&S Events; the conference was split by lunch and a tour of the stadium, pitch, changing rooms and huge trophy room.

That evening we chose one of Barcelona’s hidden gems, the restaurant El Principal with its secret garden at the rear serving pre-dinner drinks for all the guests.  All guests were advised to take it easy on the local spirits in the private disco post dinner as activities were planned for the next morning!

The group had a late start Sunday morning and were briefed on the team building task.  D&S Events had chartered ten RO400 yachts that the teams had to skipper on a full regatta race around the port, unfortunately the guests who had chosen to ignore our advise in the disco the previous night soon regretted that!

The teams had a great morning out on the sea and were ready for the late lunch that awaited them in a wonderful sea front restaurant by the port.

Once lunch had settled it was time to transfer everyone back to the airport for the flight home, again D&S Events taking care of all the luggage and check-in.  On arrival back in the UK all were again met by the UK based events team for transfers home.

The whole event was a complete success and the group had a great weekend but also met all their business objectives.
